Groom Room

New copy required, notes:

To work in a Groom Room they are looking for people who are willing to become experts, anyone can become a groomer overnight with an online certificate as it’s a non-accredited industry. Groom Room will put everyone through training with a City and Guilds certificate, the training they go through is equivalent to a minimum of £12k investment in each person. Every new starter goes through 9 assessments in 9 months, 3 of which are physical.

Colleagues stated in a recent survey that they love working there because it’s like family, rather than a job. They are moving to feature their groomers as the ‘heroes’ you will soon be able to choose your stylist as a pet owner!

Rather than working for yourself, or someone who’s self employed, when working at Groom Room you get;

  • Air con – apparently this is big, dogs overheat quickly and it’s expensive to install
  • Holiday and sick pay
  • no overheads
  • industry leading team, all the training means there’s no one self taught on the internet!
  • Specialist providers service the provided kit, so no need to worry about getting the latest things or the upkeep of them beyond cleaning

For dog groomers who are self employed working alone can be a stressful, worrying thing. At the Groom Room you have a team to support you (in 320 Groom Rooms, in the other 45 there’s a local partner vet if you should need them). There’s always someone there in charge – Salon Manager or Assist SM.

Each GR is run autonomously, the amount of training available means your career path can really move fast

They don’t crate dogs unless necessary

Being nationwide means there’s flexibility in location if you want to move around.
